Hostel CLEO is located a 5-minute walk from Hongik University Subway Station (Airport Express Line and Line 2). Free WiFi and wired internet is accessible throughout the property and complimentary breakfast is provided every morning.

Each room here will provide you with a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a refrigerator and air conditioning. Featuring a shower, private bathroom comes with a hairdryer and free toiletries.

At Hostel CLEO, you will find a shared kitchen and a washing machine. Luggage storage service is also offered at the property.

The hostel is only a 15-minute walk to the lively Hongdae area. It is also a 35-minute subway ride to the famous Myeongdong area. Gimpo Airport is a 40-minute subway ride and Incheon Airport is a 70-minute subway ride away from the hostel.

The floor of all rooms are heated by hot water. Triple rooms are located on 1st~5th floor. Yes, there is an elevator. Exit No.3 of Hongik Univ. station of AREX(Line No. 2)

There is no connecting rooms. However, hostel is small. All rooms are very close to each other.

Our space of a room is small. You can store your carrier under the bed. However, our size of bed is not small and the quality of sheet is high. Consideration of value for money, CLEO Hostel can be very smart choice for you.

Great place to stay if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the heart of Hongdae

This is probably one of the most value-for-money accoms given its close proximity to Hongdae Station Exit No. 3 and the price. Hotel is also very clean and well-maintained and in the middle of a bustling area full of restaurants and cafes.

The rooms are a little squeezy. Okay for solo travelers but perhaps a little challenging for couples or small families.

Comfortable and clean room with everything we needed in awesome location.

Great room, small but comfortable and had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, room was super clean and The location is AMAZING. They have a back door that opens onto a series of streets filled with places to eat. We were spoilt for choice whenever we stepped out for cafes, restaurants and boutique shops. The proximity to Hongdae’s various theme streets is also great to explore.

The only problem we had was payment. Not one of the 6 cards we had (both debit and credit and from the UK + AUS) worked to pay for the room. We hadn’t had a single problem with our cards prior to this. The hotel staff said this was common and we needed to pay in cash. The staff checked us in regardless and allowed us a couple of days to get cash. We had to go to multiple different ATMs to get enough cash which was quite stressful. I would recommend Cleo does something to fix their system, allow for payment through booking.com, OR at least tell customers to bring cash. The breakfast is super basic, just toast and packaged biscuits and drinks. Totally fine in a pinch if you need to get up early because most cafes in the area don't open until 10am.

We will return and highly recommend this hotel.

5-stars all around! We stayed there for 2 weeks and the aesthetic of the rooms and the cleanliness of them and the bathrooms were excellent! No one got bed bugs even though the rooms are cleaned every 2 days. We got fresh towels and the bathroom+shower have hot water...and they have AC! The rooms do not need to be spacious as we were really there to sleep and rest for the next day. The staff, especially mr. Billy and the morning staff helped us get transportation to/from the airport. They refreshed the breakfast/lounge area on a daily basis with juice boxes, cereal, milk, coffee and bread. Everything is super clean and they offer free umbrellas that you use and return. Also the location of this hotel is incredible. This is in the hub of this university town Hongdae. Being a first time in Korea and clueless of the different areas, this hotel location is not far from the bus stops while still being located in the mini alley-ways with direct access to the cafes and shopping. It is very quiet inside the hotel with views of the street from our rooms. Very thankful that our first experience turned out to be safe and fun.

Most of the cafes don't open until 11:30am. So if you're an early riser or haven't adjusted to the time differences, there isn't much to do until the cafes open...but breakfast area at Cleo is restocked/opened at 8:30am!

Brilliant

Small but functional room. The location is excellent. A quick walk from exit 3 in Hongdae. You are surrounded with bars, Izakaya, pubs, restaurants, shops. It really is a great place.

Nothing bad to say about Hostel Cleo. It was a pleasant stay.

Nice for solo traveler

Staff are very nice and helpful. They speaks good English and always have smile on their faces. My stay became much easier and memorable because of them. Rooms are very clean.

It's about 6 mins walk from Hongdae station exit 3 to the hostel, but it's upslope. Maybe difficult for travellers with heavy luggage.

Hostel Cleo: Cleanest, most comfortable, well-appointed, well-maintained stay with greatest staff

Hostel Cleo was by far the cleanest hostel or hotel I've stayed in. The staff was wonderful, helpful and friendly. I am grateful for them! Inside the room, the big window made the small space feel so comfortable and lovely. The property itself is nice and well-taken care of. The bed was so comfortable, the body wash smelled good, and the slippers inside were nice and not nasty and crusty. It was great to have a mini fridge inside the room; a total perk for a hostel. The lounge on the B1 level was great to have, also nicely decorated and clean. Having a 24-hour coin-op laundry was also such a wonderful perk. I was concerned the hostel would be too far a trek from the subway station, but it was not; it was a 3-5 minute walk. The location was great, surrounded by so many shops and gorgeous cafes, plus the beautiful Gyeongui Line Forest Park. They also had umbrellas for the guests to borrow and a (bare) patio on the fifth floor which was nice to take in the view of the city.

These are cons but not deal breakers: The breakfast was not great for someone who is vegan (there were some cute-looking pastries, but they may not have been vegan-friendly), but the juice boxes were great. Mango FTW! The room was small, but that was expected. That said, there was still enough room that it didn't feel super cramped for a solo traveler. There was no full-length mirror available, but if you need to check your full outfit, the reflection inside the elevator will do in a pinch.

Love everything except once i went to take my breakfast around 9:30 and the cleaning staff came start opening the doors, leaving them open and it was really cold (january) talking loudly, it was really uncomfortable. They didn't care at all

Didn't like the shower space because there's no space, the shower head was holding by the sink. It wasn't easy to take a shower

Very central location, right next to shops, museums and restaurants. Metro station also close by. Wifi was good and the personal was really friendly. Definitely great value for the price and would stay again when in Seoul! ????

The room was really small and the bathroom even smaller, but I guess this is like this in every other Seoul hotel, too. Nothing else to complain about.

Cosy and comfortable room for short trip in Seoul.

Room was small but big enough for 1 person. Room was cosy and bed was comfortable and there's housekeeping everyday. Location was great!

Just happened that my room door opens directly in front of the stairs, so solo female travellers might have to be more careful as you are not able to see if anyone is hiding on the stairs. But it's still safe cos there's CCTV on the level.

Great location near many nice bars and restaurants, and with great subway and bus connection through Homgdae University station

The room was to the street and this a bit noisy, but it was alright. It was listed as a twin room, but the room was tiny, it was two mattresses right neckt to each other
